Ken Pallett PhD

Ken Pallett is a plant biochemist who graduated in Applied Biology from the former Hatfield Polytechnic and then completed a PhD in herbicide mode of action at the University of Bath. He then conducted post-doctoral research at the former Weed Research Organisation in Oxford before joining the former Trent Polytechnic teaching biochemistry and conducting herbicide mode of action research. In 1986, he moved to the agrochemical industry with Bayer CropScience and its predecessor companies (May & Baker, Rhone-Poulenc and Aventis CropScience) where he held a number of roles in herbicide discovery, herbicide development and GM crop development. Throughout his career, Ken has maintained close links and with academia and has maintained a number of roles with the British Crop Protection Council, Industry bodies and is an editorial board member for Outlooks in Pest Management. He retired from full-time work for Bayer CropScience in 2015 and became Trustee Director for the Perry Foundation in November 2015.
